London                                                                         Newcas[tle] 12th Nov[embe]r 1766

Sir                           I have received your Letter inclosing me Mr Freemans receipt; as Ex[ecu]tor to Mrs Sambroke, for one hundred & forty pounds for the half years int[e]r[es]t due 27 Septem[be]r last of her mortgage on Kenton and have given your account with me Credit for the same.

I am obliged to you for thinking about the candles; as to the note, which I sent you for those got of Hewet, you may burn it- for I have paid Lawyer Wilson for them; I have received back the dra[ugh]t about Standilane tithes and think the alterations you have made in it very proper. & I shall take some opportunity of talking with Mr Ridley about his claim to the coal in Thornley as you think he cannot have any exclusive right to it under the deeds he has communicated. Only I wait to see whether Mr Gill will tell me any thing further about Lady Windsors old deed.

I shall insert the the advertisement about Woodcroft etc in our papers this week & am etc  HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
