To Mr Darwin Greys Inn London Newca[stle] 14th Decemr 1767 Sir Inclosed is Bell Cookson & Cos bill on Glyn and Hallifax for Twelve hundred pounds payable to me or order at 25d from the 5th instant; which I have endorsed and send you by Sir Walter’s directions to be placed to his Acco[un]t and desire you will advise me of your Receipt of it and that you have placed it accordingly for a voucher to my Acco[un]t. Sir Walter has granted Walter Trevelyan Esq a Rent charge of £250 a year out of Hawick and Sweethope Estates; and I have paid him the first payment of it due 25th instant So that you will not have any thing to pay him this Quarter as the Annuity of £180 ceases. I have no Copy nor Abstract of the Deed executed by Sir Walter & Sr Thos Wentworth 13th April 1748 respecting the Leasehold Estates particularly the Leadmines and which is recited in the deed of 5th Octor 1763 about the £2500. Sir Walter wanted to know, the last time I saw him, whether there is any penalty or Obligation of any sort now remaining in force by that deed; or all is superseded by the latter deed of 1763. So I wish you would at least send me an Abstract of that deed I am etc HR £1200 Newcastle Bank 5th Decr 1767 Twenty five days after date pay to the Order of Mr Henry Richmond, Twelve hundred pounds value received.
