Letter – Henry Richmond to William Darwin – 15 Mar 1775

Sir

	I have sent by this days Coach directed to you a Lease of a Leadmine in the Manor of Hexham which Sr Wr Blackett agreed to grant to the Extors of John Baker Esqr & which Mr Heron has engrossed & the Lessers are Earnest to have executed - I have examined it & you will please to wait upon Sir Walter with it; to whom I have wrote by this Post.

	Mr Blackett was saying there was some Alteration in the Schedule of the Debts Sir Walter owes in London & the quarterly payments to be made thereon - the last State I had of them was in June 1774.  I reced some time ago the Weights and Scales for Money as I desired; but the large Weights and Measures for Hexham which I wrote you about on 6 Augt 1771 by Sir Walters direction I have heard nothing of; till Mr Blackett was lately asking me about them upon some Enquiry from Sir Walter or you.  but I suppose that Enquiry must rather have related to the Set which was ordered for this Town when Mr Blackett was Mayor.  P.S.  Pray have you heard or seen any thing of my Brother of late - I hope he has dropt his visionary Schemes & is applying to Business again - No Doubt you have heard of Mr Jacob Lamberts failure                                     I am etc  HR
