Sir

	A Quantity of old Gold Coin has lately been found at the old Tower in Fenwick Town in Northunbd belonging to Sir Walter Blackett as part of the Trust Estate and it is a Question whether he has a grant from the Crown of Treasure Trove - I see there is among the Deeds abstracted under Title Hawick 30th Novemr 2rd Elizh 1560 an Inquisition finding what Manor & Lands Sir Roger Fenwick died seized of & descended to Wm Fenwick his Son and that it appears he died seized of the Manor & Town of Hexham & 19th May 13th Elizh the Queen makes a special grant to<Ld> Wm Fenwick after he came of Age of his Lands that had been in Ward during his Minority - inter alia - of the Manor & Town of Fenwicke - So you will please to Examine whether the Words Treasure Trove or any other Words to convey it are contained in the above Deeds - I do not see in the abstracts any older Deeds relating to Fenwicke Estate so whether there is any Grant from the Crown of that part of its prerogative I cannot guess but it is right to get such Satisfaction as we quietly can about it.
