Sir

	I have reced your Letter of the 12th. instant inclosing me Anthy. Wrights receipt for Five hundred pounds for Sir Edward Winningtons half Years interest due 6th. instant on Sir Walter Blacketts Mortgage of Wallington & have given you Credit for the same in the Account between us.  In the same Letter I received a Copy of our Account settled & signed by you and in return send you one signed by me.  This is well done whether you visit Newcastle or no this vacation - but I hope you intend to do so, as it is your third Year & we have <Custom> for it.  I have paid Lawyer Wallace his general Retainer for this Year & have given one for the first time, to Lawyer Lee.  I fear My Brother will not discover the vanity of his pursuits till too late.  ‘Tis’ now a twelvemonth since he left off Correspondence with his Relations, & by what you say of the Neglect of My Sisters Letters he does not seem disposed to resume it - however she desires you will keep the Letter till you hear further.

	Sir Walter seems to be better than he has been, and if this Assize Week does not hurt him I hope he will regain his Health.               I am etc                HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
