To Mr Darwin Greys Inn London                                   Newcastle 19 May 1766

Sir I rec[eive]d your Letter inclosing Roger Crosby’s receipt, for wch I have rec[eive]d of Mr Greenwell £3.9s.4d & have placed the same to your acco[un]t.

In the same Letter I rec[eive]d the copy of the peremptory advertisement for the sale of Woodcroft & Fenwick on the 19th of next month & shall get the same inserted in our papers. Sir Walter writes me from Wallington that he has wrote you to advertise this sale in one of the London papers. He is very well & I am.      Sir    Yours etc     HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
