To Mr Darwin Greys Inn London Newcas. 2nd Novr. 1771 Sir I hope this will find you seated again in your Chambers in Greys Inn, with Health sufficient at least till another long vacation. Inclosed is Bell Cookson & Cos. Bill on Glynn & Hallifax for One hundred & Seventy pounds payable at 20 days from this day which I have endorsed to You and intend for the quarterly payments you are to make for Sir Walter Blackett to 31st Decem [be]r next - so desire you will place the same to his Acco[un]t & send me the usual receipt for it. I see by your Letter of 23 July last that the last quarters remittance was £17 . 10s . 0d more than necessary, so have abated it in this remittance as I shall have occasion for Money for the Lead Mine pays next Month. You will please to remember to pay Mr Wallace his General Retainer for the present Year as I desired in my Letter of 6th August. I wonder what my Brother is doing so long in London I hope something to the purpose - for he is losing Business here. he had a Chancery Suit to conduct for the Lords of Winlaton against Mr Silvertop; which was put into his hands about two Years ago & no bill being filed yet, they have this day had a Meeting & employed Mr Jno.
