To Mr Darwin Greys Inn London Newca[stle] 20th Janry 1768 Sir In Answer to your Letter to Sir Walter of the 14th instant He bids me write you that he would have Dr Blackett’s £40 and Mr Cooksons £17 10s 0d paid out of the £460 which I remitted you on the 26th October last – as they appear to be included in the list of quarterly payments for which that Sum was sent and then the balance due to him will be £793 12s 11 ½ d; unless that £460 is included in the £5007 1s 6 ½ d which you mention in that Letter. If that is the Case you will please to write Sir Walter so. I wonder you have heard nothing from Mr Wilson of Leeds about his purchase – he wrote me sometime ago, viz 9th Decr, that there were some inquiries which Mr Banks wanted to make, but that he had sent to you about them – since which I have not heard from him upon that Subject, but shall write to him this post. As to the purchase of Hexham East Ferry boat and Boat Rake, it seems to be agreed that it must be done by a proper Deed of Covenants to be executed by the heirs at Law of the late Mr Jurin who are unmarried together with Mrs Jurin, and also such of the heirs at Law as are under Coverture together with their husbands and the Trustees in Mrs Jurins Marriage Settlement – as to the Method by Deputation it is not thought adviseable. Sir Walter thinks you may wait upon Sr Thos Salusbury for his Subscription to Hexham Bridge. I shall make you a remittance soon for the quarterly payments to the 31st March next. I wish you many happy years & am etc HR
