To Mr Darwin Greys Inn London Newca[stle] 21st Decem 1768 Sir Inclosed herewith I send you a Copy of a Letter I received last post from Mr Wilson about the Conveyance of East Kenton; by which you will see he is much displeased with the Alterations proposed to be made in the draft by My Brother. The Expediency of those Alterations I was no judge of, & would have acquiesced in what you had approved of, but My Brother dwelt so much upon the hazard of the bonds and wrote so to Sir Walter about it, that Councils Opinion was ordered to be taken on the Case; which as I mentioned before concurred with his Idea of the Danger of letting them stand out. What the proposed Alterations are you will see by the Lines scored under in the Copy of the dra[ugh]t which you receive a part of under this Cover and the rest under another, by this post. And I hope now the Matter will be settled soon, as Mr Wilson says he has left it to Mr Banks and you to do it. I hope you rec[eiv]ed Mr Hudsons’s bill on you for £3 5s 6d, with my receipt indorsed; which I sent you on the 7th instant. The Articles for the purchase of Hexham East Ferry boat are at last settled & the dra[ugh]t given by Sr Wrs order to Mr Heron, Bailiff of Hexham, to be engrossed; & when executed by the parties here will be sent to you, for those in London. I wish you the Compliments of the ensuing Season & am etc HR
