Mr Darwin - No 4 Hatton Street London Newcas 30 Decemr 1774 Sir I have given the Cuttings of the White Syrian Grape you sent to Sir Walters Gardener here as you desired - Sir Walter is inclined to take a Thousand Pounds of Mr Lamberts on his Bond agreeable to Mr Fawcetts request to him. so you will please to prepare a Bond against his return to Londn in £2000 to Chris J Fawcett of the Town & County of Newcastle upon Tyne Esqr conditioned for payment of £1000 & intst at £4.10s.0d p Centm & I shall write Sir Walter about it. I wrote you about three Sets of Gold weights. to wit a Guinea ½ Guinea & quar Guinea & now I see they will be to be had the 22d next Month of John Whitehurst No 4 Bolt Court Fleet Street - you will please to get us them & send them by the Fly directed to me. I never was in a Lottery before but this Year I was foolish enough to try for my Boys but suppose I have got a Blank - My Ticket was No 56706 so if you will be so good as order Enquiry to be made after its fate & if a Blank on what day it was drawn I shall be obliged to you: for it was bought after the Lottery was begun drawing. You will send to Mr Blackett or me as soon as you can an Accot of all your Payments about the Election that I may make out the whole Expence attending that Business which ended as honourably for us as could have been wished - I wish you the Comps of the Season & am HR
