Letter – Henry Richmond to William Darwin – 30 Oct 1765

Sir      Having occasion now for the money which I have in the 4 p[er] cent[u]m consol[idated]: I shall be obliged to you if you will send me, as soon as you can, the form of a Letter of Attorney with proper Instructions for the execution of it, so that no delay may happen from a non-compliance with the method required by the Bank in these cases.

Sir Walter bid me ask you, the first time I wrote, whether any part of his Bond to Mr Thornhill for £800 of his note to Messrs Lascelles for £571.14s.6d and of his note or bond to Mr Denton’s Ex[ec]utors for £200.0.0d is paid and what int[e]r[es]t you reckon is due upon each of them.

The first time Sir W[alte]r goes to Hexham I expect all will be completed about Mollersteads  and then I shall send the Deeds and the bill to you. It is an uncommon form required by the Governors to have the Minister a witness to a Bill.
