To Mr Darwin Grays Inn London Newca[stle] 5th Decer 1768 Sir I have received your Letter inclosing me Mr Glover’s receipt for One hundred & forty pounds & Mr Saml Freeman’s receipt for one hundred & forty pounds; both which sums were due on the 27 Novemr last from Mr Wilson for the half Year’s int[e]r[es]t of the Mortgage on E[as]t Kenton: and I have given your Acco[un]t with me Credit for the Same. As to the £1 6s 8d for your trouble in making these payments I shall charge Mr Wilson with it & acquaint you as soon as I get it allowed; which I think he cannot make any demur in doing. There was a Year’s Allowance due from Sir Wr Blackett to Mrs Eden at Micha[elma]s last, of Twenty one pounds; and the like sum will be due at Ch[rist]mas next to her Mother Mrs Sorsbie: Mrs Eden is dead but her Mother or Brother or the proper representative will call upon you for it in due time; that is as soon as you get Cash for the inclosed Bill of Bell Cookson & Cos on Glyn and Hallifax for the £42 payable 30 days after to morrow. in the mean time you will please to place this bill to my Acco[un]t and Advise me of. P.S. please to take the receipts as usual in my Name for these two Allowances. I am heartily glad Sir Walter is well after his Journey.
