On reflecting on the whole of the Facts that appeared yesterday in regard to the Offence commited by you, and after putting the most favourable construction that the facts would admit off, the crime is of so deep a die that it cannot be past over without being stigmatized with some sort of punishment as an example to Others.
I therefore discharge you (for the offence of ordering your Servant to take Lead from Allanheads Mill whether the Clark there would or not which Orders he obeyed), from Carrying any Ore or Lead from any of Sir Thos. Blackett’s Mines or Mills for the space of 14 days from the date here off, and then to be admitted carrier again as one that had never offended. I doubt not but you’ll be sensible of the mildness of this punishment as you was fully yesterday of the crime, for it will at this time be little or no disappointment to you as the ore carriage will be hardly began at the expiration of the time you are excluded.
