Sir	I am favoured with your Letter of the 12th Instt wherein you make an offer of your Service in the Disposal of a part of Mr Beaumonts Lead,  It has not been Customary with us to send any part of it to the London Market for sale by Com[m]ission, having been always of Opinion that it was not for the Interest of the Concern to adopt that Measure;  That part of the Lead that is not disposed at this place, is purchased by three Houses of Character in London at a fair Market price. The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
