Sir

      I am favoured with your Letter of the 26th. ulto. & observe that Mr. & Mrs. Beaumont are desirous of discharging the Debts (or a part of them) of the late Sir Thos. Blackett amounting to about £21,000 -.. - .. I think that they judge very prudently in so doing: The enclosed Account will shew you the Amount of what may be expected to be received till Jan.y next, as well as that of the Payments until that time; but you will please to observe that the Amount of the Receipts from Jan.y to May next, must be very small; it will be the middle of Septr. before the whole of the Lead that I have sold can be delivered; that the Stocks of Lead at the Mines as well as that on the Road are at present very small, & that the wet Season of the approaching Harvest, will be the Means of impeding the Lead Carriage. – that the Payments during that time will be considerable, as well as the Lead Pay in May supposed to be between £30,000 & £40,000 - .. - .. What Sum Mr. Beaumont may have Occasion for when in the North to draw from the Bankers until the Spring, he will judge of, which must in some Measure be a guide to you, as to the Sum which they may be enabled (with Convenience) to discharge in calculating the several Sums to be received, I have taken the earliest Date, supposing them to be punctual.

      Mr. Hunters Debt is secured to Mr. Beaumont by Bond dated 1st. Jan.y 1801 but no part of the Sum has been discharged.-

      Mrs. Forster’s Bond has been mislaid, Mr. Crawhall of Allenheads has a Sum of Money in his hands arising from the Sale of her Share of the Brewery at Alstone equal to the Amount of the Bond and Interest.   I am J.E.B.
