Dear Madam

       Since my Letter to Colonel Beaumont, I have the Favor of your Letter of the 7th. Inst. & I am glad to hear that you, the Colonel and your young Folks are in good Health. –

       I refer you to my Letter to Coln. Beaumont; from some Circumstances in the Petition of the Miners, as well as from their peaceable & proper Behaviour, & the Information that I had obtained of what was done by the Agents of the Lead Company, I have been induced to make the Recommendation respecting their Subsistence Money, which really circumstanced as they were, became necessary, & I have no Doubt will have its proper Effect with them.

       I have not the least Apprehensions of the Bank that you at present do Business with at this Place, as I know that they neither engage in any Speculations, nor do they issue Notes beyond the Capital that they can command.   I observe what you & Coln. Beaumont are so kind to propose to me respecting having the Assistance of some Gentleman of Knowledge in Business who could on Occasion be an Ease & Relief to me; I think myself much obliged to you for this Consideration; I mentioned it to Mr. C. Blackett who very kindly offered me his Assistance whenever there may be Occasion; at present I do not see any Necessity for any further Application, or saying any Thing more on the Subject.
