Mrs Beaumont Newcastle 4th Octr 1795 Bretton Wakefield Yorkshire Dear Madam I wrote to you & Coll Beaumont the 24th Ulto as I have not been favoured with an Answer, I am in hopes that the Colonel does not go abroad. I have the pleasure to acquaint you that I have made a Sale of 25,000 p[iece]s of Lead & 150 Casks of Litharge to the several London Houses, & Messrs Walkers & Co White Lead Works, (three parts of the Lead Com[m]on, One part Ref[ine]d) at the advance price of £17 10s per Fo[dde]r Litharge at £18 per Ton, to be paid for by Bills on London payable in 6 Months, this I look upon as a very good Sale, & which I had doubts of accomplishing; The Quantity of Lead at Blaydon at present does not exceed 6,000 p[iece]s, but I am making use of every exertion to get the Lead down from the several Lead Mills before the Roads break up, but I am apprehensive that it will not be in my power to deliver the quantity this Year, however no pains shall be spared to effect it. I am with Respect Dear Madam Your Most Obed[ien]t Serv[an]t J E Blackett My respects to Coll Beaumont when you write.
