Dear Madam

      My Letter of yesterday would inform you of the Receipt of your Letters of the 27th Ulto & the 2nd Inst. The Instructions given in Mr Bowns’s Letter of the 27th Ulto shall be strictly followed, being perfectly agreeable to what I proposed as you may observe by my letters; The four Bills of Easterby & Halls Committee on Messrs Forster Lubbock & Co for £44 – 14 -1 if not discounted by E.g. £6 for Bank Notes at their Charge on or before the 14th Inst shall be remitted to Sir R[ichar]d C. Glyn & Co. 	The Darlington Commissioners not having sent the fresh Certificate, agreeable to their Promise, Mr Heron tells me we cannot yet make an Appeal.

      I observe the Sum of Money which you have sent by Mr Hay. T. Crawhall has given Turner Notice of it, & he will call for the Box at the Queens Head on Monday; this Sum £719-10 with the £599 – in Dollars which the Bankers are to send down, will be of great Service at the Lead Pays; we shall not have occasion for the £100 in Dollars which Mr Hay kindly made an offer of.

	As I wrote to you yesterday & T. Crawhall acknowledged the Receipt of your letter of the 27th Ulto I did not answer Mr Bowns’s Letter which he will excuse. 	I have this day wrote to Sir R[ichar]d C. Glyn & Co & remitted them eight Bills as at foot for £7491-16-2  on Account of Colonel Beaumont; I have likewise advised them of having drawn on them in Favour of Messrs Goslings at 30 Days date for £375 - -being the Rector of Stanhope’s Quarter’s Composition.

	I enclose you Copy of a letter that I received from Mr Ellill, which I have answered, declining his Offer with Thanks. Mr C. Blackett told me this morning, that in case I would take £30 per Fo[dder] for 2 or 3,000 P[iece]s Lead, one half refined, that he believed that his Friends Messrs Prestons would give it; I declined it at present.
