Dear Madam

       I wrote to you the 6th. Inst. from Newbiggin, this I hope may find yourself  the Colonel & your young Folks perfectly well in Portman square.   The Bank Committee have not yet made any report; the first payment they make after satisfying the Government Extents will (I imagine) be the taking up of their Notes that were in circulation.

       The India Company’s Contract for Lead will be made this Month, which will in some measure regulate the price, it will be highly necessary that I should make a Sale soon, & a large one.   I shall be happy in case the prices of £32 &£33 p[er] F[odde]r. can be obtained, but I doubt it much.   I write by this Post to Mr. Bowns & inclose him a Bill for £2,000 - - on Col Beaumonts Accot., a Copy of which letter I enclose you.   I am &c.   J.E.B.
