Messrs Farrers & Atkinson Newcastle 25 Sept 1790 Chancery Lane London Gentlemn I was from Home Yesterday which prevented me Answering your favor of the 22d inst. I observe what you say respecting the paym[en]t of the £5000 due on Mrs Swinburne’s Mortgage £3000 of which was to be paid to her Order & £2000 to the Ex[ecut]ors of the late Benj[am]in Gibson; I understood from you that the matter respecting that transaction was settled between you & Mr Wren & that those Sums were to be paid into the hands of Messrs Castell & Co on the 22d inst & placed by them to the Credit of the several parties, from which Time the Interest was of course to cease, I have this day had some Conversation with Mr Wren on that who approves of that Method & tells me that Mr Pearson had consented to it on the part of Mrs Swinburns, Mr Fenwick of Bywell being to recieve that Money, the Ex[ecut]ors of Mr Gibson the £2000 if Messrs Castell & Co are not inclinable to recieve the several Sums on those Accts they must remain in the hands of Messrs Hoare & Co and placed to the Accounts of the parties accordingly I am etc J.E.B
