Sir       I had the Honor of writing to the Lord Bp. of Durham the end of Jany. respecting the Lot Ore of the Lead Mines in Weardale held by Sir Thomas Blackett Bart. by Lease under the See of Durham.  I fear that there was an Impropriety in my Application at that time, on which Account I now take the Liberty of Addressing you which I hope you will excuse.  From the time of the late Bps. Death the Lot Ore has been separated wch. is attended with some inconvenience, & I am desired by Sir Thos. Blackett to make his Lordship an Offer of the same Composition for the Lot Ore that was paid to the Late Bp. (Viz) £350 a Year.  As I am inform’d that you do some business for his Lordship at present, may I beg the favour of you to mention the Affair to him & to favour me with your Answer which will much Oblige. The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
