Sir

      I have lately applied to the Lord Bishop of Durham’s Secretary to know the terms on which one life may be inserted in Col Beaumont’s Lease of Kilhope Welhop & Lintzgarth, in which you are a Life, held under the Lord Bishop, in the place of the late Richard Brook. The above is the reason of my now troubling you, to request you will procure a Certificate of your health, signed by the Clergyman of your Parish, and send to me at this place, in order that I may get that business completed

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
