Gentn	I beg leave to acquaint you that a short time ago I had an offer from two of the London Houses for all the Lead that I had to dispose of at this time, the Price £16 per Fodder, but the time of Payment so long that I could not by any means accept of their Offer __ Since which I have sold to Messrs F & P 20000 p[iece]s one half ref[ine]d the other Com[m]on at £16-5- per Fodder & to be paid for all at the usual times of Payment __ I shall make no more Sales for the London Market ‘till late in the Spring & hope by that time that the Price may advance __ I shall be obliged by your letting me know the state of your Market at present. The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
