Mr James Hague at Mr Darwins No 47 Hatton Street London                  Newcas  9th Septr 1774

                         

Sir

	Inclosed you have Messrs Bell Cookson & Cos bill on Messrs Hallifax & Co for Two hundred pounds which when paid place to Accot the Credit of Sr Wr Blackett’s Accot with Mr Darwin - As it is drawn at a short date I have endorsed it payable to you only in case of an Accident - Sir Matt Ridley set forward for London Yesterday & on his Arrival will apply to Mr Darwin or you for some Money on Sir Wr Blackett’s Account - you will therefore please to let him have what part of this Sum he may have Occasion for taking his Receipt for the same

	The free Burgesses of Newcastle residing in London will be called together soon - If Mr Darwin or you can be of any Service to Sir Wr Blackett & Sir Matt Ridley in this Business they will be obliged to you for your Assistance                    I am etc        J,E,B.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
