To Mr John Bell Hexham Newcastle 11th Decr. 1777 Sir I wrote you the 19th instant to which refer you I received your letter of the 9th inclosing the late Sir W[alte]r Blacketts Bond to The Governors of Hexham School for £378 & the Receipt for the Int[ere]st to the 19th Nov[embe]r I desire you will pay out of the Money you have in your Hands One Hundred Pounds to the Ministers & Churchwardens in the parish of Hexham proportioned as under; it being a Legacy left by the late Sir W[alte]r Blackett to the poor of the parish of Hexham you will please to take their Receipt for the same _ I must likewise give you the Trouble to pay Jo. Forster the inclosed Note & am etc J E B. P.S. I understand from Sir Thos. Blackett that you was to pay me some Money on acco[un]t of Hexham Rents It is necessary that I sho[ul]d know what Sum I may depend on having that I may engage to have the remainder at the Bank.
