Mr John Bell Hexham Newcas 6th Decr 1778 Sir I received yours of the 4th and observe that you have received about Six hundred Pounds and can be here with it any day after Thursday next. I shall be at Home on Friday & Saturday next so you may come which ever day is convenient to you. I fear Sir Thos Blackett will be greatly disappointed at not receiving a larger Sum. I have already remitted him a £1000 & he writes me that I must bring him at least £1300 more. The Tenants at Wallington paid up very well which I apprehend has not been the Case with Sir Thomas’ Tenants . I would recommend it to you that Application be made to the Tenants that are backward with their Rents for Sir Thomas does insist on their paying up & unless they do I shall be under a Necessity of taking up the Money at the Bank. I am etc JEB
