Dr. Sir

      I received your Letter of 8th. inst. & observe the Contents; Inclosed I send you a Check for £100 –“ – the Receipt of which you will please to acknowledge.-

Thos. Crawhall went to Bretton the     & was to have returned the 5th. inst. but I hear nothing of him.   I propose being at Hexham on Monday the 16th. inst. to meet the Lead Agents, of which please to acquaint Mrs. Thompson.  I am &c.- J.E.B.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
