Dear Sir       I wrote to you a few Days ago, viz, the 17th inst[an]t to which refer you.  Inclosed you have Messrs. Bell Cookson & Cos bill  on Castell and Co. for Two hundred pounds the Receipt of which you will please to acknowledge.  This Sum will enable you to pay Mr. <Gordeons> int[e]rest & Mrs Fields Annuity  _  I understand from Mr Wall that the latter is remitted by Mr Simonds     I have received from Mr Turner £1455 . 13s . 1¼d being the Balance of the Wallington Rents due Martinm[a]s last _  £407 . 14s . 0d on Account of Longwitton & Whitridge Rents due Martinm[a]s last    & £100 from Mr Bell on account of the Arrears of Hexham Rents which several Sums are placed to Account.   I went to Wallington on Sunday Evening _  Mr. Strother Kerr, who had never seen the Place, came to me on Monday & we got home on Tuesday.   The Plantations look very well & with the help of Turner and Carr the house is well aired & the Furniture in good Order.  Turner has got into a very good Method of keeping his Accounts of the Estate with the several Farms.  I have settled what Philip is to be allowed for keeping his Horse & I hope Turner & he will have no more Disputes.   Turner goes to receive the Ord Rents on Sunday.

   When he returns & I have had some Conversation with him & Mr Heron I will write to you.    Mr. Charltons Receipt for £100 on account of the Turnpike shall be enquired into.  I believe this Sum is included in the Security you have on that road.  Capt[ai]n Roy has dined with me & I shall shew him any Civility in my Power.    I was desired by Mrs Trevelyan to send a Bill to Miss Stewart    lest any mistake should happen I have inclosed the Letter & desire that your Servant Robt. White may deliver the Letter & take a Receipt for the Bill on Mrs Trevelyans Account which Receipt must be sent to me.    I am etc                       J E B.
