Letter – John Erasmus Blackett to John Trevelyan – 30 Jan 1785

Dear Sir    I have your favour of the 25th ins[tan]t & agreeable to your desire therewith send you Bell Carr & Co’s Bill on Castell & Co dated 29th inst. at One Month for £300.  the receipt of which you will please to acknowledge. Sir Thos. Blackett’s Bonds to you are all paid off which I thought I had mention’d to you in a former letter.  The Ord Estate will be Advertized in March, previous to which it will be necessary to have some Conversation with Mr. Winship on the Subject, which must be Communicated to you for your Directions as to the Sum which may be Advisable to Ask for it, & likewise what you wou’d have Ask’d for the Fisheries as well as the Sums that you wou’d take for the same.  As its Probable that the same person may not become the Purchaser of both; proper care must be taken in the agreement for the Estate that the Landings, & other priviledges of the Fisheries, are Preserved etc.  Inclosed I send you my letter to Mr. Hall open inclosing a Bill for £625 to pay Sir Walter Blount & I hope that you will approve of what I say on the subject, please to Seal the letter & send it to Mr. Wall by a careful hand.  I hear that Mr. G. Trevelyan has been at Netherwitton a Week, but I did not see or hear from him in his way   should he want any Money & Apply to Me, I shall supply him.  Mr. Winship called on me yesterday & paid me £100 on acco[un]t of Rents, he tells me that he Wrote to you respecting your Tenants Handyside, Brown & Pratt but he has not received your Answer.
