To Sir John Trevelyan Bt. Newcas. 6th Febry 1781 Half Moon Street Piccadilly London Dr Sir I am favoured with your Letter of the 31st Ulto. by which I find that you would be in Town as Yesterday I observe that you expect a Remittance of £500 & shall have occasion for a further Sum in about three months hence Inclosed you will receive a Bill drawn by Bell Cookson & Co on Castell & Co dated this day at 30 d[ays] for Five Hundred Pounds for which Sum you will please to send me your Receipt I am sorry Money is so scarce & that at present we have it not in our Power to sell any part of your Estates in the North unless to great Loss _ I observe it is your Intention when the Value of Land advances to dispose of all your Property in the North I wish there was a prospect of Times mending but I fear the Contrary & that your Present Tenants will be greatly in Arrear the next Rent day Mr Trevelyan informs me that he has had one of the first Opinions on the Case with respect to his Purchase of the D. of P. which is much in his favour but Mr. Heron who is in Town will inform you further on that Subject. P.S. I write to Mr. Wall by this Post inclosing him a Bill for £500 to pay Sir Edwd.
