Sir John Trevelyan Barot . Newcastle 7th June 1783 Half Moon Street Piccadilly London Dear Sir I am favoured with your Letters of the 8th and 31st Ult. & have agreeable to your desire sent you a Bill as under for £300 for which you will be pleased to send me your Receipt. As Mr. Fawcett & Mr. Heron were both of Opinion that you was compellable to pay the Money to Mrs Swinburn that was left on the Purchase of Longwitton Estate & to pay 5 P[er] Cent Int[ere]st for the Sum remaining & on your being acquainted you had complied with it, I have paid her £2000 more of the Principal & the Interest at that date so there now remains only £6000 on that Purchase _ I have likewise settled with Mr. Trevelyan paid him all his Intrest money due with £1000 of the Principal & the £1000 remaining on the late Sir W[alte]r Blacketts Bond to enable me to do which & make other Payments I have received from Sir Thomas Blackett £5000 in part of his Bond to you dated 14th February 1778 for £7600. I am glad to find that you approve of the Rye being sent to Wallington it will be of infinite Service to the Labourers & poor people there at this Season I am etc J E B. £300 . .
