Dear Sir	I am favoured with your Lres [Letters] on the 1st & 4th Inst the former inclosing Mr Brasiers letter to you, & Copy of your Ans[we]r which I return you; Mr Brasier’s lre [letter] was just what I expected, & your Ans[er]r to it, is I think a very proper one  I have no doubt of Lady Blounts consenting to continue the Mortgage at 4 per C[en]t rather than part with so good a Security where the Interest is so regularly paid; by this Post I shall remit you £562-10-- to her Bankers Messrs Wrights for half a Yrs interest _ I expect that Mrs Swinburn’s Att[orney]s will have the Deed prepared in a few days when she will call on me for £1000 in part of the £6000 Rested on the Longwitton Estate which Sum shall be paid her; I wish you could procure the whole Sum in the South at 4 per C[en]t & pay her off, it cannot be had in the North at that Int[eres]t .  Inclosed I send you a Bill drawn by Eden Ridley & Co on Castell & Co dated 5 inst at a Month for £500 which I have charged to your Acct at the expiration of this quarter, the Book with your Acct shall be closed and sent you.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
