Mr Luke Noble Newcastle 16th Septemr 1783 Bretton near Wakefid Yorkshire Sir Inclosed you will receive a Bill drawn by Surtees Burdon & Co on Smith Payne & Smiths dated 15th instant at 30d date for One Thousand Pounds on Accot of Sir Thos Blackett Bart the Receipt of which you will please to Acknowledge. When Sir Thos was at Hexham an Application was made to him by the Revd Mr Martindale for a Subscription towards Building a School House at Slaley & on Consulting with Mr I Hunter I think Sir Thos consented to give £20 but I wait for his Ansr before I shall shall do it. Please to Acqut Sir Thos that I have sold 200 Casks of Litharge at 17 3/4 p Ton but have not yet made a sale of any lead. I stand at 17 1/4 & 17 1/2 & am in hopes that the London Buyers will be under a Necessity of coming up to our Prices.
