Gentn.     I have this day by direction of Sir Walter Blackett remitted to Mr. Wm. Alvey Darwin in Hatton Street a Bill for One Thousand Pounds which he will Pay into your hands     part of which is for the purchase of a Company for Lieutenant Scott of the 17th Regiment of foot  _  the remaining Sum on the Account of Lieutt Scott as you were advised by Sir Wr. Blackett  the 29th Ulto.  You will please to acknowledge the receipt of the money to Sir Walter Blackett Barot.  at this place.          I am etc                       J E B

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
