Sir Robt. Carr Baro[ne]t Bath Newcas 11th May 1779 Dear Sir As you are Executor to the late Sir Will[ia]m Carr I take the Liberty of troubling you about this Business. The late Sir Walter Blackett gave to Mr John Ord of Broomdikes £1100 for himself & Family. Sir William Carr was in Trust for this Money & the Bond was lodged with him; £100 of which Sum has been paid off as you will see by the inclosed Account. I am desirous of paying the remaining £1000 & have given notice to Mrs. Marg[are]t Ord the Widow of the said John Ord but am informed that the said Bond was in Sir Will[ia]m Carr’s hands at the Time of his Death I shall be glad to know if you have It. Should it be thought necessary that Sir John Trevelyan should give you an Indemnity on the Bond being given up it shall be done. I am etc J E B.
