March 1801 Serle Street Lincolns Inn Fields London Sir I have been favoured with your several Letters of the 24th. & 26th. instant with an Account of the Receipt of two Cakes of Silver as at <f>oot; I have this Day sent you another Cake of fine Silver of 799 Ounces by Jacksons London Waggon, which I hope may arrive safe, the Amount for the whole being £912.5.8. – I have this Day drawn a Bill on you at 30 Days date payable to the Order of Messrs. Surtees Burdon & Co. which I doubt not will be duly honoured.-I shall send you another Cake if agreeable to you about the end of April. I am &c J.E.B. Oz 1st Cake 1153 ½ 2d. do 819 3d. do 799 2771 ½ at 6s/7d p Oz is £912.5.8 P.S. I find that the Waggon does not go till Thursday the 2d. April so I shall date the Bill that Day.
