Dear Sir

	Mr Bell was with me Yesterday, he could only get £650 which Sum he paid me on Account of Hexham Rents and I shall bring a Bill or Bills with me to that Amount.  Mr Bell expects he shall be able to pay me about £600 more the Middle of January which shall be remitted to you if you think proper.

	I hope to be with you the 19th instant & am etc.  ps. I have had a Letter from Mr Francis Scott about the Price of Lead etc which I have answered.      I am etc     JEB

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
