Sir Thomas Blackett Barot Newcastle 15th Febry 1778 at Bretton Yorkshire Dear Sir I am favoured with your Letter of the 9th instant, the Contents of which I communicated to Mr Wilson. I observe what you say with respect to your House & Ground and am obliged to you for the offer you made me. I have no Thoughts of becoming a Purchaser or being concerned with any Person in the Purchase; I have made your Resolutions known to some Gentlemen that made some Enquiries about it but no offers have been made & I wish that you may succeed in the sale of it. I wrote you the 10th instant to which refer you. P.S. I have paid Money in advance on your Account & must Pay about £1300 to your Agents the beginning of next Month. I am unwilling to take up Money at the Bank at 5p Centm if it can be avoided. I have had an offer of £500 from Anderson at 4 1/2 p Centm & probably I may get more in Case it meets with your Approbation. I am etc JEB
