Dear Sir

	I am favoured with your Letter of the 10th instant & shall observe the Contents.  Mr Simpsons offer for the Parkhead Farm making an Allowance for the Rent charge to Mr Eyre of £40 a Year you will please to observe comes within a Trifle of the Sum you asked.

	On looking into the Will of Sir Wm Blackett I find that the Election of the Master of the Charity School of St Andws is in the Vicar of Newcastle & Churchwardens of St Andrews.

	The Salary is £22 a Year & is charged on your Estate but the late Sir Walter Blackett some Years before his Death gave an Augmentation to the Salary of £5 a Year which has been continued by you.  The £1000 charged on your Estate by the Will of Sir Willm Blacket was not laid out in Land by the Trustees agreeable to the Will & 6 p Ct Interest has been paid ever since the Death of Sir Willm Blackett.  I have sold 2000 ps more of your Lead at £12.15s.0d p Fother.  No offers are made for the Purchase of your House & Ground in this Town; not even an Enquiry about Them.  I shewed Mr Wilson your Letter.  We do not think your Affairs in this Country require your Presence very soon.  In June or July I fancy it may be necessary.                                                               I am etc     JEB
