Dear Sir

	Your Leadmine Stewards were with me to receive Subsistence for the Workmen.  They report that the Mines are pretty much in the same State they were when you were in the North & will raise a Considerable Quantity of Ore this Year.  At the End of the Year I have given them Directions to make out an Account of the Stock in hand etc when you come North in February next the Stewards will be here for Subsistence Money & I hope the Accounts which will be laid before you will be Satisfactory.

	Inclosed you will receive a Bill drawn by Bell Cookson & Co dated 16th instant at a month for £500, the Receipt of which you will please to acknowledge.  I have not seen Mr Bell yet but expect he will be with me the End of this Week with some Money on account of your Rents.  I Yesterday made a Considerable Sale of Lead at the Prices as under which are higher than any that have been made at this Port.  Doctr Hall has paid me £5000 on account in two Bills at 2 months.

	When the Lead Carriage stops the End of this Month I expect there will be at Blaydon 14000 ps lead exclusive of the late Sales most of which will be for Refining & Litharge to keep them employ’d till May when the Carriage Starts.      I am etc    JEB
