Sir Thomas Blackett Barot Great Russel Street Newcas 22d May 1778 Dear Sir I received your Favour of the 14h instant inclosing Sir John Trevelyns Receipt for the £5100 for the Materials etc at the Mines. On the 16h inst. Mr Bell paid me £700 on Account of Hexham Rents. When he has received the Rents of the Fenwick and Wellon Tenants he will pay me a further Sum. I observe that you was to receive £200 this Week of Messrs Plumb & Browne on account of Silver. As this Sum almost balances their Account I thought it best rather than draw a further Sum of them to send you a Bill for £300 which you have Inclosed. You will please to acknowledge the Receipt of this Bill & advise me what Sum you received of Messrs Plumb & Browne that I may place it Account. I am at present about £100 in Advance on your Account & Mrs Scott has called on me for the £550 that you have on Bond. She requests the favour of you to accept of this short notice as it is on her Sons Account to whom it will be a particular Service at this Time. As it will be some time before I shall be in Cash for your Lead and have Payments to make I shall have occasion for all or most of the Money that Mr Bell is to pay me. I am with respect etc JEB
