Sir Thomas Blackett Bart. Newcastle July 27th. 1785 Bretton - Yorkshire Dear Sir I am favoured with your letter of the 22nd inst. & am Concerned to hear that you are so much Indisposed wch. prevents us of the pleasure of seeing you in the North next Month. I hope that the enjoyment of Fresh Air at Bretton, with a little Quiet Company may soon set you right; I hope that you will be with us in the Autumn or Winter, which ever may be most Convenient & agreeable to you, for I assure you that your Affairs in this Country will require your presence; there are several Matters to lay before you for your Approbation , & Directions, wch. cannot so properly be Communicated to you by letter. I imagine that Mr Noble will be at this place about the usual time when he will find the Accounts ready for his Inspection but I wish that I could be informed of the time that he will be here that I may not be from home. We can then fix a day for the Dinner for the Agents at Hexham when I shall certainly meet them; they are to be down at this place the 5th Sept. next for Subsistence for the Workmen should that time suit you to be here? Would you have the Dinner Postponed till that time? I am etc John E Blackett
