Sir Thomas Blackett Barot Newcas 28th May 1780 White Hart Buxton Derbyshire Dear Sir On the 20th instant Mr Bell paid me £800 on Account <of> of your Rents & I expect he will be able to pay me a further Sum in a short Time. I have by this Post wrote to your Steward Mr Luke Noble & inclos’d him a Bill for £500 on your Account of which I advised him to advise you. I have not yet fixed a Time for the Pay for your Mines & Mills. They will Amount to near £29000 & I expect to have the Money against the Time without taking up any more Money. Genl Beckwith has applied to me for your leave to make use of your Laundry for his Cocks during the Race Week. I understand it shall be the last Time he will ask that Favour of you. You will please to favour me with your Answer. What Time do you propose being in this Country? I am etc JEB
