Sir Thomas Blackett Bart. Newcastle April 29th. 1787 Bretton - Yorkshire Dear Sir I wrote to you the 23rd inst. to wch. I refer you. I got home yesterday evening after having made the several Pays for the Lead Mines & Mills amounting to £43722 there were no Complaints & every one appear’d well pleased the weather on friday & saturday was very rough Storms of Wind at N.E. with Snow & hail. I have had letters from Mr Brooks & Mr Hardinge Copies of which I inclose you, I have wrote to the former again & made use of Arguments wch. I hope may induce him to accept of your Offer for the Bps Lot Ore. Mr Hardinge you’ll observe Accepts of it in a handsome manner & I enclose you the Agreement for you to execute wch. you will please to return me. I shall by tuesdays Post remit a Bill on London for £2000 to Mr Noble on your account. I have paid Mr Bell £525 on account of the Purchase that you lately made at Allenheads. Mr Hunter being of Opinion that some improvement may be made in the Working of the Bellows at the Refineries intends going with Mr Crawhall next Month to Sheffield to look at the Works at that place & I believe that Mr Bell will take a ride with them. I have desired that they will acquaint Mr Noble when they will be at Bretton as he may probably find it Convenient to go with them. & I am etc John E Blackett
