Dear Sir       I was favoured with your Letter of the 23rd Ult. & observed that as soon as your Company left you that you proposed coming North, so I hope we shall soon have the pleasure of seeing you.  I am obliged to you for returning my Letters & it was not of any consequence y[ou]r opening that from my Daughter.  Inclosed I send you a bill drawn by Eden Ridley & Co. on Castell & Co. dated 2nd inst. at one Month for £2000…   the receipt of which please acknowledge.     I am etc      J. E. B.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
