Dear Sir

	I am favoured with your Letter of the 28th Ulto acknowledging the Receipt of the two Bills for £1000.  Mr Bell writes that he will bring me £600 the End of this Week by which I imagine your Tenants have fallen greatly Short in their Payments.  I have wrote again to him acquainting him that you do expect they will pay up for I must have £1000 at least.  In a former Letter I sent you Bates & Hunters Valuation of Content & Parkhead Farms.  The former was valued at £76 a Year which at 35 Years amounts to £2660.  I asked Sir Thomas Clavering £2700 & inclosed you here his Letter to me by which you will observe that he expects to have an answer soon.  The Content Farm is valued at £44 a Year, wch at 35 Years purchase amounts to £1540 and the Wood being valued at £100 I asked Mr Simpson £1650 for this Farm Subject to the Rent of £40 a Year to Mr Eyre.  I have not yet had Mr Simpsons answer but find he thinks it too high.  We have no Demand for Lead.  Your Stewards are to be with me the 14th instant for Subsistence for the Workmen.  I propose being with you the 19th instant but you shall hear from me again before I set forward.  Mr Fawcett Mr Wilson Mr Heron & myself have been together two Days last Week and they have put finishing Stroke to the Business between you & Sir John Trevelyan relating to the Personalties at the Lead Mines Mills etc The particulars of which I shall acquaint you with when we meet.  Those Gentlemen have not yet settled the Covenants that are to be entred into by you and Sir John for producing of Deeds when required.   I am etc   JEB
