Sir Thomas Blackett Bart. Newcastle . Jany. 6th. 1785 Bretton - Yorkshire Dear. Sir I received Mr Noble’s letter Advising me of a Roll of Brawn that you have been so kind to send, for wch. please to Accept of our best Thanks, it arrived safe & is exceeding good: Mr Wilsons Roll likewise came safe. As there was a Considerable Quantity of Lead at Blaydon I thought it advisable to make Doctor Hall an Offer of 10,000 pieces at the prices I sold the last 16,000 pieces (Viz) £16 . 7 . 6 for Refined & £16 . 2 . 6 for Common; on his refusal I made the same Offer to Mr C Blackett wch he has Accepted of; I postponed writing to you for a few days till I had concluded this Bargain, & could advise you of it. I shall in a few days remit you a Bill on London for £1000. I have Advised Doctor Blackett of Plymouth that the £2000 on your Bond to him will be Paid in the 1st June next, the other Sums wch you have on Bond (Mr Wilson’s excepted) will likewise be paid In during the Course of this year.
