Sir Thomas Blackett Barot Newcas 7th Feby 1779 Bretton Yorkshire Dear Sir I wrote you the 31st Ulto to which refer you. I have sold Dr Hall 10000 ps of Lead, one half refined & the other Common at 12.12.6 a Fother & 200 Casks Lithage at 13 1/2 p Ton to be paid for in six Months in Bills at two Months date. As the Stock of Lead at this Market was large as well as that of Stockton & on the drop I thought it adviseable to accept of the Offer. Lord Percy is expected down soon & will expect the same favour you granted him last Year Pray what answer must be given him. The Content Farm at Winlaton was valued with the Wood at £1650 but that farm is Subject to an Outrent of £40 a Year payable to Mr Eyre for which I think you allowed some Abatement shod be made. Now Mr Simpson offers you £1550 for that Farm Subject to the Outrent - he desires his Compts & begs to have your Answer. Mr Gibson Agent to Mr Eyre (who is an Attorney) is preparing the Lease of the Colliery. I observe what you say with respect to the Meeting at Morpeth. An Application to Parliament to have the Affair of the Tithe of A[d]justment settled on a fair reasonable footing would I think be very proper but Parliament will not certainly disassent that Tithe. As you are so Considerable a Lay Proprietor is it advisable for you to Stir in this Affair I am etc JEB
