Dear Sir       Inclosed you receive two Bills as above amounting to £2000 the Rect. of wch. please to acknowledge.  Mr Noble would inform you that I met your Lead Stewards at Hexham the 21st. Ult. that my Brothers, Major Scott, Mr C. Blackett Jo. Forster, Hardbottle, & the Tulips dined with us at the Bull & they were all very well pleased.  Westg. Forster informed e that they had cut a fresh Vein at Wolfcleugh which is very promising; I told him that a skilful person of good Character must be looked out for to succeed T. Westgarth as 2nd. Agent for his Son was certainly to young at present for that Employment & that Archer the Woodman was not equal to it, I find that he wants to have his Son appointed 2nd. Agent & Archer to succeed him as 3rd Agent wch. I told him that you wou’d not consent to, nor do I think that either of them are equal to the trusts.  We have very fine Weather for the Harvest but the Pastures & <Fogs> are very bare.  My Daughter joins with me in best Complim[en]ts. to yourself, Mr & Mrs Beaumont & Miss Wentworth     I am Dear Sir  Your’s  etc    J. E. B.
