Dear Sir

	Your Lead Stewards were with me the 25th Ulto for Subsistence for the Workmen.  The Mines are much in the same State they were when the Stewards were last down etc they expect to raise as much Ore as they did last Year.

	I shall make the Pay for the Mines in May & expect that it will amount to near £30000 which Sum I shall provide.  The Price of Lead at the London Markett is below this which is very extraordinary & I fear it will not be in our Power to keep it up this Year when the Lead comes down to Markett; however I shall do my Endeavour since I got home have sold upwards of 2000ps for foreign Marketts.  Refin’d at £17 p Fother, Common at 16 3/4  & Litharge at £17.5s.0d p Ton.  I shall remit you £1000 next Month and expect to be called upon by Sir John Trevelyan for 3 or 4 Thousand Pounds in June next in part of your Bonds to him which Sum I shall be prepared to pay.
